Journal of Addiction and Physical Dependence (JAPD) is an international, peer-reviewed journal publishing high-quality research articles on addiction and physical dependence.

JAPD operates on a continuous publishing model. This ensures that original articles, review articles, practice articles, editorials, short communications, and case reports are published online immediately upon acceptance and final preparation. This model facilitates the rapid dissemination of research on characteristic psychological or physiological dependence on a substance or repetition that is beyond intended control, including substance-related addictions such as the abuse of alcohol, drugs, nicotine, amphetamine addiction, cocaine addiction, opiate addiction, food addiction, and behavioral addictions like gambling addiction and sexual addiction.

JAPD aspires to publish clear, open-access, peer-reviewed research and deliver free and unrestricted access to research articles for the advancement of the biosphere.

While we primarily publish articles related to addiction and physical dependence, our scope spans broader fields including psychology, substance use disorder, tolerance, addictive drug mechanisms, social policy, pharmacology, and neuroscience. Ethical, legal, and liability issues in addiction medicine practice are also strongly encouraged.

All submissions to JAPD undergo a loyal, supportive, and double-blind peer-review process. All articles are immediately available to read and reuse upon publication. Articles published in JAPD enable users, readers, and peers to use the content with clear permission, allowing it to be reused and redistributed as long as the article source is appropriately given credit for non-commercial purposes.

The journal is a proud member of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

JAPD welcomes direct submissions of manuscripts from authors to the submission portal on our website and also through info@acquirepublications.org as an attachment.
