Role of an Editor and Editor Responsibilities

The editor is supposed to ensure that the journal’s aims, scope, and content respond to any changes of course in the field of study to integrate newly-emerging work. The editor must comply with the policy guidelines provided by the publisher and fulfill the responsibilities bestowed upon with integrity.

  • Editor may write editorials, opinions or solicit manuscripts on special topics for publication in the journal.

  • Editors have a responsibility to maintain the integrity of the published literature, if required, by publishing errata or corrections identifying anything of importance, retractions, and expressions of concern without delay.

  • Editor will have final responsibility for the journal’s content and articles published in the particular journals.

  • Editors are responsible for screening and ensuring the fairness and timeliness of the peer-review process. Appropriate suggestions to the respective journals for encircle relevant and noteworthy subject by the Editor are necessary for the escalation of the journal.

  • An editor should evaluate and review the manuscripts without any bias towards race, gender, religious faith, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political viewpoint of the authors.

  • The Editor or any Editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to any person apart from the corresponding author, reviewers, other editorial advisers, and the publisher, as appropriate subjecting on the need and stage of processing.

  • Promote the journal in academic circles and scientific conferences you are a part of and to colleagues, friends and academicians to submit articles.

  • Manage special issues when required.

  • Suggest potential contributors and reviewers improve journals production.

  • Correspond with other editors, reviewers, and editorial staff on day-to-day operations.
